Mapfre Asistencia has been awarded the prize for the best travelinsurance 2011 granted the journal International Travel InsuranceJournal (ITIJ), reported the insurer.
Mapfre Asistencia's president, Rafael Senen, was commissioned to collect the prize in the International Travel Insurance Conference (ITIC), the only international forum that specializes in travel insurance and assistance, held in Lisbon, the company said.
The evolution of Mapfre Asistencia, a subsidiary of Mapfre, its contribution to the international insurance business and its strategy of entering new markets are some of the reasons thathave earned the award, in addition to its commitment to innovation, the statement said.
As explained by the insurer, ITIJ Award is one of the most important in the care sector for the prestige of the magazine thatprovides and also the method used to decide the winner, including a vote "online" among professionals industry andevaluated by a jury.
Mapfre Asistencia, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, operates in 40 countries and has a portfolio of 1,330corporate customers up to 74 million people
